As a software provider developing solutions for health and safety management, we see it as our duty to do what we can to help protect people and the environment. Our immediate response to the Covid-19 outbreak was to offer our solutions for free, for a period of four months to help business continue to protect all management and staff during the crisis. Now, as the holiday season is upon us, we also wanted to give back to the community by doing social good both locally and globally. We decided to take active interest in a global organization that reflects our purpose and hence decided to donate to the United Nations Foundations, says EcoOnline CEO, Göran Lindö.
Christmas is often referred to as “the season of giving” and EcoOnline has a long tradition of benefaction. The impact of Covid-19 and affects this has had worldwide means this established practice is one we feel is especially important this year. This also helps us to ensure we align and contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
#UniteforHealth to recover better for everyone, everywhere
According to the UN, 9 out of 10 countries report that essential health systems have been disrupted due to Covid-19. More than 70 million people could fall back into poverty as a direct consequence of the pandemic – which would be the first rise in this global crisis in 20 years. By donating to the #UniteforHealth movement, EcoOnline wants to help contribute to ensure people and nations have the best recovery possible, from the Covid-19 crisis.
In addition to donating to this global initiative, EcoOnline has a long tradition of helping nonprofit organisations that operate in the different countries where EcoOnline have their offices. This year’s donations are given to:
- Denmark: Børnecancer Fonden (Childhood cancer found)
- Finland: Sylva Ry (Childhood cancer found)
- Ireland: St Vincent’s De Paul & Milford Hospice
- Sweden: Räddningsmissionen (Vulnerable families with children)
- Norway: Matsentralen (network of food centers that facilitate the redistributing surplus food from the food industry to nonprofits that help disadvantaged people)
