On its own, however, it leaves no audit trail, no consistent data, and no reliable way to spot trends across shifts or sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Computer-based reporting is gaining ground<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Computer-based systems are the most widely used and most preferred digital channel. 34% of North American workers now know how to report via computer (USA 33%, Canada 35%), up from 27% in 2025 (USA 25%, Canada 28%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Computer-based reporting is also the preferred digital method at 26% (USA 25%, Canada 27%), up from 25% in 2025. Preferred mobile reporting rose from 16% in 2025 to 18% in 2026. For deskless, remote, and field-based teams, mobile is often the only practical way to report an incident at the point of risk. A worker who doesn&#8217;t recognize a minor chemical exposure or a near miss as reportable will not record it. Those missed reports leave holes in your data and your regulatory records.
