World Environment Day, recognized annually on June 5th, is a global platform that mobilizes millions of people for environmental action. This year, the focus is on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience. At EcoOnline, we are committed to these efforts, and we invite you to join us in making a tangible difference.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The urgency of land restoration cannot be overstated. Up to 40% of the planet\u2019s land is degraded, affecting half of the world\u2019s population and threatening half of global GDP (approximately US$44 trillion). Since the year 2000, the number and duration of droughts have increased by 29%, with dangerous impacts to over three-quarters of the world\u2019s population by 2050, if no urgent action is taken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drylands are areas that get less than 150 mm rainfall per year. They cover about 40% of Earth\u2019s land surface and are home to more than 2 billion people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
