Stop the pandemic: Safety and health at work can save lives

Today the world is celebrating and recognising the great challenge that governments, employers, workers and whole societies are facing worldwide to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The World Day for Safety and Health at Work will focus on addressing the outbreak of infectious diseases at work, focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The International Labour Organisations has focused this years World Safety and Health at Work Day around addressing the outbreak of infectious diseases at work, focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic. The coronavirus continues to impact working life and many companies and businesses around the world are facing great challenges, new risks and increased demands in handling a constant flow of information. The aim of this event is to promote dialogue on safety and health at work and in particularly during the pandemic. The ILO is using this day to raise awareness on the adoption of safe practices in workplaces and the role that occupational safety and health (OSH) services play.

The ILO have released several resources to help organisations “In the face of a pandemic: Ensuring Safety and Health at Work”.
