Færderseilasen, also referred to as the summer's most beautiful sailing adventure, is back for its 76th edition. From June 9th to 11th, 2023, both new and experienced Færder sailors will gather to participate in Norway's largest regatta, an event that appeals to a wide audience.
Færderseilasen, affectionately known as Færder'n, is a regatta held every year on the second weekend of June by the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club. The regatta, also referred to as the summer's most beautiful sailing adventure, is back for its 76th edition this year, from June 9th to 11th. Both new and experienced Færder sailors will gather to participate in Norway's largest regatta, an event that appeals to a wide audience.
The race starts either in Oslo or Son (for sailing ships) and incorporates three different lighthouses in the Oslofjord as rounding buoys for five different courses. The longest course rounds the Færder lighthouse. Since 2017, all courses finish in Tønsberg. Prior to 2017, the finish line was in Horten.
The race usually competes with several different courses, in 2009 there were five. The second longest distance, course T, was from Oslo to Tristein by Færder lighthouse and back to Horten, about 83 nautical miles, which corresponds to around 153 kilometers.
This year, we are proud to announce that our very own Helene Melby Brodersen from EcoOnline will be participating in the regatta. She has been chosen to join the crew in the Færderseilasen, one of the world's largest overnight regattas, to highlight Tønsberg's potential for sustainable business. Starting from Oslo's Aker Brygge on June 9th and finishing in Tønsberg on June 10th, we, along with other eco-conscious businesses, will be showcasing our dedication to a greener future.
The crew of 12 includes six elite members representing thriving businesses in Tønsberg, all steadfast in their commitment to the environment. This exciting campaign, supported by the Tønsberg municipality and key players from the Tønsberg Business Association, aligns perfectly with our mission at EcoOnline to promote sustainability and appeal to like-minded customers and partners.
Stay tuned for more updates, and join us on our journey towards sustainability.
